To my beautiful children, (written on 8/19)
You have now been home for 3 days and we are all surviving just nicely!! You are such good babies. I wake up you at 10,1,4 and 7 around the clock to eat and then I pump which takes about 1-1.5 hours, then I have about an hour and a half to sleep or get things done around the house or work 🙂
You had your first baths yesterday. I had just received a call from my insurance company when I heard your dad say, “Oooooh my gosh. I need your help!” Harris had a large poop, and then it just coming and coming! It was time for your first bath, my boy. You were so cute I couldn’t even handle it. Your little face looks so much like your dad and you just have the most peaceful spirit about you. It is such a treat to be your mama! You loved the warm bath and I could tell you were really happy. We put you in with your blanket because preemies need this in order to maintain their body temp. We pour water over you then take out a body part to wash you, then put it back and keep doing that. We wrapped you up when you were done, and then when your daddy was feeding you your bottle, I gave Goldie her first bath at home too. You make me laugh, Goldie! You have this sassiness about you that just cracks me up. When you were taking a bath, you had this expression on your face that made me think you thought it was a spa night. You like being pampered, pretty lady!
Your dad and I took you to your first pediatrician appointment today and I took the quickest shower of my life and got ready so fast! I called it the “twin mom shower.” I’m glad your dad took a few days off of work so he could help! He is such a good dad and he works so hard for you. He is willing to jump in and do anything to make sure you two are happy! He put Harris in the car and I put Goldie in the car, and we were about 15 minutes late to the appointment. Oops! We are going to have to start planning at least 30 minutes in advance so we aren’t late to everything.
When we got back, we put you back to bed for your nap and then we ate oatmeal for lunch (ha!), I pumped and your dad and I slept for about an hour. Then we started the whole routine over again! You are such sweet, special spirits and all I want to do is snuggle with you all day. I love your itty bitty bodies!! They are so precious. Last night in the middle of the night, your dad woke up to me changing your diapers with a huge grin on my face. That’s saying a lot! I mean, who has a grin on their face at 4 am?! Me…when I’m looking at you. That’s who.
I love you, my babies! I still can’t believe you’re mine.

Tyler and I are absolutely in LOVE with these swaddles. They keep the babies nice and secure and comfortable! I also feel good about them sleeping in these because they can’t get loose and they are safe in them.
We LOVE these Angelcare baby baths. They keep the babies comfortable, the water comes up through the back so they are warm, they are a soft plastic so the babies conform and they help us be able to bathe them easily!

I’m getting really good at tandem feeding! And looking really tired ha ha 🙂 My Brest Friend pillow is a lifesaver.
Whoever came up with the line, “never cry over spilled milk” obviously didn’t acquire that milk my pumping it at 4 am 😉
We love our Saranoni blankets. They are unreal soft. I took a million pictures of Goldie at the pediatrician’s and then was feeding her bottle to her when it was Harris’ turn so I asked Tyler to take some photos. I obviously am a little more camera-happy than he is. 😉 Sorry, Harris! We’ll do a photoshoot next time 😉

So glad you all are home and having a great time! I used those swaddle me's with my first 2 children but eventually they get strong enough to kick them off like houdini babies hahaha! For my 3rd baby, I found an even better swaddle! Google the Woombie. It's amazing and actually much easier to use than the swaddle me's. Good luck to you and your babies! Xoxo
