2018 Home Decor Update

Happy New Year! Something that is important to me and that has been increasingly on my radar the last few months is to choose home decor that brings joy. I would rather not have something in a spot, and have it be bare, than have it be ugly or something that doesn’t bring me joy when I look at it. True! I am very mindful when I am picking out my home decor. Is this something that will make me happy when I look at it? Is it something that is classic and that will be in style for a long time? Is it neutral and will it match my other home decor?

I scoured some of my favorite shops online for home decor pieces that make me happy. I already have some of the items in my home, and other home decor items are those that would make me happy and that I have my eye on.  If you follow along on Instagram, you know that one of my goals a few months ago was to plug my phone in on the kitchen island at night so that I wouldn’t be tempted to look at it in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. It has been a total GAME CHANGER. If you’re wanting to do the same, this darling $30 alarm clock would be so cute (and useful!) on your night stand. If you’re one that likes to take a cup of water to bed to sip on while you read, etc, then these pretty marble coasters (on sale!) would be some great decor.

You guys know I’m a lover of anything white, and these hobnail candles (20% off!) stole my heart the first time I saw them a couple years ago. They look so pretty on bookshelf, or next to me in my tub when I am taking a bath! Also, please either buy yourself this mug, or buy it for someone else. I kind of want to buy it for myself and laugh a little whenever I drink from it 😉 I have been diffusing essential oils a lot the last few months (I’ll tell you all about it in another post), and most diffusers are kind a little unattractive. Look how pretty (and on sale!) this one is!

There are so many great items to make your home happy. Let’s choose JOY this year! I’m certainly not implying that you can buy joy in a store, but if you’re going to decorate your home, choose items that make you sing 🙂
