To my beautiful children,
Um…I’m pregnant. With TWINS! I texted Aunt Jocelyn that today because I can’t believe it sometimes. And by sometimes, I mean all the time. I don’t think it will seem real until you’re here…and even then I won’t believe that you’re both mine! Lucky mama.
What’s been up lately? My ankles, that’s what. And by “what’s up,” I mean “what’s massive” and the answer is my ankles. I can’t believe how much they are swelling lately! I wake up in the morning and feel like I have arthritis or something because they are so sore, and so are my hands. The only thing that really helps is going to the pool, so last night when your dad was massaging my feet, he said that it was doctor’s orders to go to the pool at least a couple times a week to help my “thankles” decrease (someone posted on my Instagram that they they call their big ankles “thankles” instead of “cankles” because they are as big as their thighs. Much more fitting in my case as well!) The weight lifted off my uterus helps the blood circulation more so all of the liquid doesn’t pool in my feet.
We went to the maternal fetal medicine specialist last Wednesday and got the good news that you two are still growing fast…both almost 3 pounds! That’s a LOT of baby in my belly plus two placentas, so if I had a 6 pound singleton, this is how I would look. It is getting more uncomfortable by the day and my main symptoms are:
– Lots of swelling, especially in my feet and ankles.
– Tons of congestion; it feels like I have a cold 24/7 and I can only breathe slightly out of one nostril most of the time. Glamorous, glamorous! It give me a lot more empathy for your daddy who gets the worst allergies.
– Insomnia if I don’t take unisom. I only got 4 hours of sleep on Saturday night because I went down to a half pill since I am drowsy during the day with a full pill. Didn’t work so well, babies!
– I feel huge and it’s hard to breathe because my belly is getting so big! It’s hard to walk around.
– Feeling so grateful that I get to be your mama!! That’s my favorite symptom 🙂
Some days are a lot better than others. One night last week, I walked outside to hang out with your dad who is in the back yard and I brought two single-serving applesauce containers with me. The first thing I said to your dad was, “these are both for me.” He just started laughing. I mean, I didn’t want him getting any crazy ideas that I was going to share…let’s not get carried away. Sometimes I get so hungry that I don’t even ever think I could get full again. And then I eat and there isn’t enough room in my belly with you two in there so I can’t imagine being hungry again. Oh, the drama. Later that night I was reduced to tears because my body just hurt so much. Your sweet papa bear gave me a great leg and foot massage then tucked me in to bed with my legs propped up on 5 pillows. Yes, 5.
Your daddy’s first father’s day was yesterday and you two were so thoughtful because you had the great idea to make him some German pancakes before church and write him a little note. I mean, talk about making a mama proud!! Who taught you to be so thoughtful?
We love you little babies.
You’re worth it!

Big yawn!

Um….yeah. Those are my ankles. Or “thankles.” They are really comfortable to walk on.
After our ulstrasound…happy campers!
We went to the Strawberry Days fair as a group for work and I got the biggest corn dog of my life.
Oh, you really wanted to see a picture of my thankles again? Well, do I have a treat for you!!
Deflating my thankles in Grammy and Popsy’s neighborhood pool. Chillin’. By myself.
Dinner with my cousin Amanda and our hubbies. You love some Indian food, babies!
Another nice treat for your viewing pleasure!
Ultrasound update!
My belly has lots of jelly on it from the ultrasound. It’s so much fun to watch my belly move all over the place!

Hi! Where did you get your swim suit? I've been looking for a cute maternity one:)

Hi! It's actually not a maternity swimming suit, I just bought a bigger size, but it's really comfortable! It's Kingdom and State. Here is the direct link: http://rstyle.me/n/bpwa4i8p46
Have a good day!

Oh my goodness!! Have you considered wearing compression stockings? Definitely
Not stylish but would help so much with the swelling.
