To my beautiful children,
I have been wanting to write to you…but you’re making your mama SO TIRED! Plus, I’ve been crazy busy with a couple different conferences these last couple of weeks.
Your daddy and I went in for another ultrasound last night. I had a lot of anxiety right before…I want you to grow healthy and strong so it’s always a relief to see you growing. And guess what? You’re the cutest little gummy bears we have ever seen! There were 12 days between our first ultrasound and the one last night, and I still can’t believe the difference! You went from little blobs to gummy bears with shape. Well done, babies! We could see your arms and legs, your heads, your torsos, your strong heartbeats and the umbilical cords. The doctor said you were 7/8 of an inch. That’s big! One of you is laying sideways, and the other one is upside down. I thought you were right-side up at first and I thought that your legs were your ears (mama is smart…stop laughing) and I told the doctor, “Our baby looks like Mickey Mouse!” and he laughed and said that you were completely upside down and those were your legs. Woops. I thought you were just giving me subliminal messages that you were really looking forward to going to Disneyland.
I couldn’t stop saying, “wow!” and “that is so cool!” when Dr. Foulk would point out each part of your body. It amazes me how fast you have grown. What a relief to see your sweet little bodies developing so well!
We signed the big tree with our names, and when you are born, we will go back and visit and write your birthdate and your names. We graduated from the fertility center! We went there for a lot longer than I expected. We got to know some wonderful people really well. I gave Dr. Foulk a couple of hugs and told him how grateful we were to him for helping us grow our family. He told me that it was in God’s hands, and he was just doing what he could to stop the roadblocks.
I kept walking around the house last night saying to your dad, “I love themmmm!! I love them so much!” I’m talking about you, my babes! I’m so obsessed with you. I always did have a thing for gummy bears, after all. Your cute dad tries to hear your heartbeats by putting his head on my belly.
Today I went in for my first OBGYN appointment. As I was walking in, I couldn’t stop thinking about how surreal it was. FINALLY! It’s my turn to go to a baby doctor! I chose this doctor because I had a really good recommendation from a friend, and he’s only about 5 minutes away from our house. I really liked him a lot! He was very friendly and excited for us. He did another ultrasound, and said that he would like to see me again in two weeks because I’m having twins. He said that my due date was September 4th because that’s full term, but he doesn’t let twins go past 38 weeks although they are typically born around 36 weeks. That means you’ll probably come in the second or third week of August.
I slept for 9.5 hours last night and was still exhausted today. I wanted to take a nap so, so, so badly. I even considered sneaking into the mother’s lounge room at work for a quick nap. I’m not promising that I won’t do that tomorrow…
We are SO excited to watch you grow!!
We love you, Silver and Goldie.
xo
Mama
This is at 7.5 weeks last week. I feel like it’s more bloating than anything, but I don’t like to button my pants up any more because I don’t want to squish the gummy bears! I put a little rubber band around my pant loop and button.
My mom and I couldn’t help ourselves. We met for lunch in Park City and then she said, “let’s go look at baby stores!”
Back when the babes were as small as blueberries!
Have you ever seen cuter little nuggets?!!!
Mickey Mouse, ladies and gents…Mickey Mouse! I flipped the picture so it looks like a baby now, but think about it upside down. It totally looks like a mouse just waiting to get into Disneyland!

I love reading and seeing your updates. I'm a week ahead of you and love seeing what the babies look like at this age. Are you still taking the diclegis? I feel like I'm so tired because of that. I only do the two pills at night, but man being tired sucks! Congrats to your family. I have been silently following along for a little bit.
Congrats! Yes I am. I think you would probably tired anyway in your first trimester, it's a very common thing! Your body is working hard. The diclegis is a life saver. I would be so sick if I didn't take it!!
This is my 4th baby. I'm for sure way more tired this time.
I'm exhausted too! I haven't been pregnant before but it sounds like the Diclegis makes you a lot more fatigued, huh? Survival mode!! 🙂
I'm so happy for you!! I've been following you for a while now and you give me hope for my 1st IVF cycle. I'm seeing Dr. Gurtcheff at the Pleasant grove location and my transfer is the 22nd. I'm so excited! I'm not even nervous… Is that weird? Haha.
That's great, get lots of rest!! Xo
So happy for you!! I look forward to reading updates!
Thank you!!
So excited for you!! <3
Jenica I've been reading your blog and catching up on your writing and I am so so elated to hear this wonderful news of you having twins!! Congrats! You look beautiful and I couldn't be happier for you and your husband.
Thank you so much, Mindee!! I hope you are doing well!
Do u have a baby bump yet?
A very small one!
I love reading your blog and seeing your updates on IG! I'm about to start the IVF journey and you give me lots of hope! xo
Best of luck!! Stay strong and get lots of rest 🙂
This is so amazing and I love your story! I love happy endings!! I am starting the journey to try our last ditch effort with ivf. I know you saw 2 different doctors and you are currently seeing dr Foulk. I was told to see him and I think he is a great fit. I have 2 REs that I have seen and I love the UFC but I am always on the fence about big decisions. Did you see another dr at the UFC or was it another center. Why did you choose to switch and if you don't mind me asking who the other dr was? Sorry for all the questions but I am at a stand still right now in trying to make a decision!! I have no idea what to do.
Alison – see Dr. Foulk!! I HIGHLY recommend him. He is so smart and his success rates are 20% higher than the industry as a whole. Email me and I can give you more detail!
I love seeing your updates!! It's crazy how fast they grow.. And when they come out its even faster!!! We just did our 2nd fresh transfer( we got pregnant on our first one) but this time our luck wasn't as good.. We have our first frozen transfer on the 24th and we are feeling way more positive and optimistic about this round.. We are also putting 2 in this time so it'll be interesting what happens this round.. I remember the first time i was able to go to the obgyn .. It was so awesome to finally go there pregnant instead of looking wishfully at all those pregnant women… Enjoy every minute of your pregnancy!!!
Thank you so much!! I will praying for a success on the 24th. What a roller coaster! xo
I follow your story religiously.. God knows what he's doing and works is miraculous ways.. Those babies are lucky to have you as their mama!
Aw thank you so much. You are so kind! God is definitely in charge and has a great plan for us 🙂
I also agree dr. Faulk is amazing and I've heard success story's from other people that have gone to him as well. I've been going to ufc for 2 1/2 years and Dr. Faulk will be doing my 2 ivf. Another Dr there did my first and I miscarried at 5 1/2 weeks.
I'm hoping the very best for you, mama! I'm so sorry about your miscarriage. That's so hard. I'm praying for you!
