To my beautiful children,
I went to the doctor this morning at 8:30 am and he said that the cause of the bleeding on Sunday was due to one of the placentas detaching slightly from the uterus. That placenta is quite the drama queen…did it really need all of the blood all over the place?! Drama, drama, drama. Dr. Glenn said that since the bleeding has stopped, I don’t have too much to worry about but he does want me to take it pretty easy the next 4 weeks. He said that I shouldn’t exercise, but I can go to work and that bed rest is actually a bad thing for me right now because it could cause blood clots if I’m not moving around enough. It sounded like he thought I would be sad to hear that but I told him to rest assure, bed rest is fun for about 3 hours until you get bored with your Netflix show. I’m more than happy that he told me to go to work! He said that getting up, getting ready, and doing things like getting up to get water and use the restroom during the day is about the all the exercise that I need right now and that amount of movement will be good for me.
I also need to get another rhogam shot in 12 weeks to protect my babies in case they have positive blood types.
As for my diet, I think I need to start working on that. I’m feeling much better this week than last week so far, but still only a few foods sound good at any given time. Today, it was a chicken, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast at Chik-fil-a, and a baked potato at Wendy’s for dinner, among other things. Before I got pregnant, I would literally never go through drive-thrus. Like, maybe once every 4 months, if that. Now it’s two-a-days, apparently. It’s like I’m a football player going to practice twice a day, except it’s the drive-thru…and I’m sitting on my butt. So I guess it’s not the same at all.
I also couldn’t stop talking about hot dogs today at work because that sounded really good. Who am I?!!
You’re worth it!
xo

What does it mean the placenta is detaching?
Jenica Parcell says
It means that the placenta isn't attached to the uterine wall in a small place. I learned this happens in about 75% of pregnancies.

As soon as i seen your picture on IG i came by quickly to read your new post. Glad all is well with the 3 of you, babies are giving you such a hard time already lol. I don't mean to scare you but 3 months ago i had a placenta abruption which is when the placenta detaches from the uterus and cause me to have a hemorrhage at home 20 mins. late had an emergency csection at 38wks pregnant. To make long story short please becareful and listen to any signs that your body tell you. If you feel somethings not right seek medical help immediately. Thankfully my baby and i survived but in a case like mine many times either baby survives or the mother not both. Take good care of yourself and i can't wait to read more exciting adventures!

Wishing you the best; I'm so glad all is well! Luckily with me it's just a small tear that will heal quickly and I didn't hemorrhage at all. I'm still going to take it easy though 🙂 I learned this happens in about 75% of pregnancies.
I hope you are doing well with your little ones! xo

Congrats on your pregnancy, and I'm glad everything is ok!! Since you are feeling better and ready to focus on your diet, I highly recommend the book "When you are expecting twins, triplets, or quads" by Barbara Luke. I mostly followed her guidelines for eating and had big (6 and 6.8 oz), healthy, full-term twins! 🙂

Thank you so much! And thank you for the tip – I actually just got that book yesterday and am glad to hear so many good things about it! That's awesome!

You are the cutest! I love your "it's like I'm a football player…except not really at all." And those cravings get the best of us. With my first pregnancy, I thought KFC sounded SO good. Worst.Decision.Ever. I haven't eaten there since (it's been over 6 years) ?
I am SO glad to hear that all is well with you. Such a scary time though! Oh my goodness. The roller coaster of ivf is hard enough and then you just brace yourself all along the way, praying nothing goes wrong. You're in jt prayers. I want nothing more than for you to have two, healthy babies! ❤️??

Thank you so much!! Ha ha so funny what you crave 🙂 It is quite the roller coaster and so worth it! Thank you so much for your prayers 🙂

I'm glad everything is okay with your babies and I had to laugh reading about your diet. I have twins who are almost 4 and in the beginning of my pregnancy all I wanted were snack wraps from McDonald's even though I never eat fast food. Because twins come early, you have less time to get weight on those babies so you go ahead and eat up. ?

It's crazy how your eating habits change!! So funny 🙂 Thank you!

So with my first ivf pregnancy I had this happen at 11 weeks and then it went away for a week and then came back and then went away for good.. I read a lot about it and found its quite common in ivf pregnancies.. My cousin had it happen to her( I had warned her so I think it helped her not freak out so much) .. We just found out our FET was successful and I'm worried about going through that bleeding again … Even though everything was fine it's still scary to see that much blood.. I had also read that when the placenta reattaches sometimes it attaches extra good and has a hard time detaching at birth.. Sure enough mine did and my doctor was up to her elbow trying to get all my placenta.. So anyway don't be worried if that happens:).. Btw my placenta showed no signs of detachment at 16 weeks

Yay!!! Bleeding can seem scary, but it happens in so many pregnancies! I bled off and on till week 17. It was my 4th pregnancy, and my first living child. He ended up being born 11 weeks early, but is TOTALLY fine now! Pregnancy doesn't come easily to all, but oh man is it worth it!! I'll be praying for you and your little ones. They sure do have a great, positive mommy! 🙂

All your chats was very useful.. Am 12 weeks pregnant by ivf treatment, I was admitted in hospital for recovery. Now am fine but doctor said to be careful as bleeding appears in scan which may occur until 16 week… So i was worried, after seeing your post i feel little relaxed… Thank you all
