Oh man, you guys. This past weekend was good. And I’m not saying that to brag, I’m saying that because I want you to have the best weekend ever too. Because you freaking deserve it. The only thing I have to complain about is that it wasn’t longer. If I had to do it again, I would have extended it another two days and then maybe I wouldn’t have been so depressed when it was over. Because I’m not ready for real life yet. So let’s relive it, shall we?
First, I’m not a huge fun of the strip. I’m sorry, judge me, I just think it’s a little…um…unsavory at times. We’ll use that word. We chose to stay at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa in Summerlin because it’s just nicer out there. It was about 20-30 minutes away from the strip so we could still easily get down there, but there was a lot less traffic and we avoided the other parts of the strip that I just don’t love. Here’s what I love about Vegas: the food, the sun, the relaxation and the shopping. Red Rock was perfect to help us enjoy my favorite parts of Vegas.
We got there, easily checked in and walked up to our clean and new room. It was spacious and homey with a smaller bathroom and also a large bathroom so my mom, sister and I could all get ready at the same time.
After we checked in, we went across the street to Downtown Summerlin which is a new shopping center with lots of amazing shops like Nordstrom Rack, Sephora and Lululemon. They have delicious restaurants like Shake Shack and California Pizza Kitchen (we went to both of them!) We were in heaven with everything being so close!
I have been wanting some good quality lipstick and I decided that it was finally time to get rid of all the lipstick that dries out my lips and get some. I went to Sephora and got this YSL lipstick (in the picture below) in Extreme Coral because I love the bright color, and this Bobbi Brown lipstick in Blackberry because I love the dark, rich color which I wore to Celine Dion.
Because food is the center of my life regularly, and especially while I’m pregnant, we went to T-Bones Chophouse back at Red Rock that evening and sat outside in the gorgeous weather on the patio for almost 3 hours. Just the bread was to die for, let alone everything else! They come out with several choices of bread and it makes you want to just stuff them all in your purse because you can’t possibly think of another day without it…or maybe that’s just me? Do you feel like I’m being dramatic about food?
It was such a gorgeous space and it was nice to take our drinks and relax by the fire after we ate. They were so sweet and accommodating to our request for non-alcoholic “mocktails” as well. We felt perfectly pampered.
The next morning we woke up and I had a scheduled facial at 9 am and it was LIFE CHANGING. No, I’m not kidding. I don’t normally pamper myself quite so much, so this was a real treat and something that I am going to try to incorporate into every vacation. I did the Red Rock Signature Facial and I literally had to keep reminding myself that I hadn’t died and gone to heaven. Let’s start at the beginning, I’m getting ahead of myself. I walked in and they escorted me to my locker where I changed into my robe and sandals. They showed me where I could find water, the restrooms, the saunas, the hot tubs and showers. I was met in the waiting area by the woman that did my facial who happened to have gorgeous skin and the softest hands of all time. I guess that will happen when you’re covering your hands with the highest quality face products for your job.
The facial was a series of different treatments, including a cherry mask that smelled amazing. She massaged my hands, feet and neck. If I could get a facial every day, I would. It literally relaxed me for the entire rest of the day. The smells and relaxation were incredible and I would highly recommend a spa treatment when you are there.
After my facial, I went back to the hotel to meet my sister Jocelyn and my mom. Jocelyn had gone to the spa and my mom had taken a bath while watching TV in the big tub. We all went to get our hair blown out and styled at the salon. Our hair was ready for the big night ahead…Celine Dion!
Before Celine, we had some time to go shopping again at Downtown Summerlin and my sister discovered the most amazing shoes that look like Valentino’s, but that are $900 less expensive. Yes, please. We both got a pair! Click here to take you to them. I wore them to Celine Dion and they were really comfortable too! All 3 of us tried them on and we couldn’t get over how comfortable they were.
Here is a little selfie..I also had to buy these Kenneth Cole pumps because I love them and they matched my outfit perfectly! I can’t find them anywhere online though. They were on sale. Sorry :/
Celine Dion was absolutely amazing. I still can’t get over how incredible her voice is. We bought tickets on the top tier and I have a suggestion for you…either buy your tickets at the top, or the first twenty rows. The seating is tiered but doesn’t go back as you get further up, so whether you buy your tickets on the top or the bottom, if you’re in the back, you are still the same distance away from the stage! We were glad we didn’t spend more to get lower because it still wouldn’t have put us any closer to her unless we were on the floor closer to the stage. I hope that makes sense!
The weekend was far too short and it came to an end far took quickly!! We had an absolute blast and it was so relaxing! Red Rock was the perfect place to stay and I will stay there again next time I go to Vegas. I hope you liked my tips and that you plan an incredible girl’s weekend to Vegas too! Like I said, you deserve it 🙂
Thank you to Red Rock for partnering with me on this post!
