Good friends are so incredibly priceless in this life, aren’t they? They help make the hard times bearable. I met Courtney (pictured in the last photo) almost two years ago at a blog conference called Altitude Summit. We talked, I told her I was doing IVF, and a couple weeks later I left my house in the morning to find a beautiful bouquet of roses on my front porch. I was completely blown away by her thoughtfulness! She’s the type of person that makes me want to be a better person. She owns a large and successful online company, Cents of Style, but doesn’t ever lose sight of what really matters, which is lifting one another on our journey through this life. She is a light in this world!
Courtney, Oakley (my incredible friend that I’ve known for years), Mallie and Elisa threw me this beautiful outdoor shower. I was honestly blown away at how thoughtful they were to do it for me! It’s been months and I still can’t get over it. We originally planned it for July 14th which just happened to be one day after I delivered the twins 🙂 Woops! Since the twins made their debut so early, we rescheduled for August. The twins were still in the NICU. Most of the people who came are women I have met through blogging. I had no idea I would become friends with such incredible people through this blog. As we sat well into the evening under the tent with the lights glowing and the cool breeze blowing softly, we laughed and talked and I thought to myself how good this life is. It’s so hard too, but these nights are what keep you going. They’re what get you through.
